Medi-Gators

The Medi-Gators Program provides shadowing, mentorship, clinical skills, networking opportunities, and more to undergraduate students interested in health careers. Within the Medi-Gators Program, we offer a Virtual Shadowing Program, Mentorship Program, Peer Mentorship Program, and Ambassador Program, and our signature events include Clinical Skills Workshops, Networking Banquets, Pre-Health Admissions Preview, and our annual Women in Medicine and Science high school outreach event. The target audience of learners is undergraduate and gap year students; however, we also have opportunities available for healthcare professionals and health professional students (i.e. medical students, dental students, PA students, etc.).

Peer Mentorship Program

The Peer Mentorship program is available to University of Florida and Santa Fe College students. The program connects pre-health students with near-peer mentors that are further along on their pre-health journey to provide guidance, support, and advice.

Medi-Futures Virtual Shadowing Program

Medi-Futures Virtual Shadowing is a free program providing pre-health students an opportunity to gain exposure to a wide-array of health careers. 40+ healthcare professionals give presentations over the spring and fall semester, providing information that students would get through in-person shadowing. Students that meet the attendance and participation requirements receive a certificate at the end of the program.

Medi-Futures Mentorship Program

The Medi-Futures Mentorship program connects undergraduates, health profession students, and healthcare professionals to create a more successful health career pipeline through mentorship groups that provide guidance, insight, growth, and empower students. Mentor groups meet for 6 months to work on solving a healthcare-related problem and then present their projects at a final Project Expo and Reception.

Ambassador Program

The Ambassador program is a leadership development program for pre-health students to serve as representatives of the Medi-Futures programs. Ambassadors take part in outreach efforts, organize events, and lead informal peer mentoring at their institutions.
