Mini Medical School

Partnering with Florida Teachers to Enhance Education

The Mini Medical School was started by the UF Medical Guild in 1996 with the goal of “Partnering for Tomorrow’s Health” by promoting interactions between UF researchers and health professionals with middle and secondary school teachers across the state. This one-day program focuses on a specific health science theme and provides teachers the opportunity to experience some of the many facets of the UF Academic Health Center, similar to a medical or graduate student! The participants attend lectures from UF researchers and faculty, discuss the current research being done at UF, visit labs and clinical research spaces, and participate in activities and case-studies, By sharing knowledge and insights, we will be able to better equip the scientists and health care experts of the future!
