Volunteering in science education outreach is a wonderful opportunity for professional development, to gain communication experience for many different kinds of audiences, and to broaden the reach of your own scientific research! ASC and CPET have many opportunities to get involved in outreach, from teaching lectures to mentoring K-12 students. Listed below are a few of the possibilities! Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you want to get involved, even if you are not yet sure what your role might be!
- Serve as a mentor for an SSTP summer intern or teach a biweekly honors lecture course on a topic of your choosing!
- Give a lecture or run an interactive lab experiment in the Research Explorations or RISE programs!
- Work with teachers to develop innovative science lessons in the CATALySES and Mini Medical School programs!
