2024 Fall Program

Actin Up! Muscles and Neuromuscular Disease

Friday, December 6th

UF Health ASC and CPET, in collaboration with the UF Medical Guild, are delighted to present the Fall Semester Mini Medical School for Teachers! This semester, we’re diving into the fascinating world of muscles and neuroscience, with a special focus on neuromuscular diseases. Join us for lectures by leading neuroscientists at UF who will cover topics like gene therapy for rare muscular disorders, Deep Brain stimulation (DBS), muscle regeneration research and the role of muscles in neuromuscular disorders. The program includes visits to UF’s top research labs, and hands-on activities designed to enrich your classroom experience.

Best of all, this program is free to attend, with coffee, light breakfast, and lunch provided! You can earn up to 8 hours of in-service or professional development time and take-home classroom ready materials. Certificates of attendance/completion will be provided, so be sure to check with your school district. Don’t miss this opportunity to deepen your understanding of neuroscience and bring valuable insights back to your students!
